Check your info on Haiti and the violent uprisings, largely financed by the "haves on the Hill", the entrepreneur class, along with their American, Canadian and French business partners. Aristide was chased by Levi Strauss with the help of the American, French and Canadian armies and police forces masquerading as a UN stabilization mission. The level of election fraud in the vote that brought Aristide to "power" in his latest reincarnation was peanuts compared to what happens in Florida and Ohio and concerned a portion of the senate that wouldn't have affected the majority even if they had traded parties straight across. Aristide is not perfect, but he represents a broad swath of the population and was clearly better for the poor than any of the alternatives. That he should be allowed to return is a matter of justice and simple common sense. The violence perpetrated against Aristide and his constituency is the usual last resort of those who already have too much and who want more, and was deployed when the economic measures designed to destabilize Aristide clearly weren't working to dislodge him from the embarassing position he occupied.
