Developing Webpages for people with learning Disabilities

My good friend over at http://www.digitalmediaminute.com dug up a very interesting article about developing websites for people with learning disabilities

Learning and cognitive disabilities are not things that web designers generally take into account when designing their pages so it’s nice to see someone finally talking about it!

CPA/Bremer lost $9 billion?

Can you say “Oil-For-Food, part Deux?”

I just read this at the Sydney Morning Herald. (It’s dated February 1… that always makes my brain hurt)

Health Canada considering Bath seat Ban

Before todays regular update, I wanted to point out an article I saw this morning because it directly affects us.

Apparently Health Canada is considering Banning baby bath seats.

It just so happens that we bought one of these recently. In fact, we bought the one that the CBC picked to put on their article. I tried it once and didn’t like it because I thought it was actually harder to bath Jade with it cuz she kept sort of falling over. We ended up taking it back and we were going to get one that clipped onto the side of the bath instead… but those are apparently being discouraged now too.

I guess the message is not necessarily to not use these things, but rather to NEVER leave your child unattended in the bath…. even for a second.

CBC and FoxNews pee on each other.

Haha. I never thought I’d use the word “pee” on my blog.

But it works…. I have to laugh at this story cuz it’s so typical of what Big Media has become. For the most part, the likes of the CBC, BBC, CNN, Fox, CTV, Global, ABC, CBS… etc etc.. they all have their “slant”. And it’s readily apparent in their broadcasts.

What’s really funny though is when they start getting defensing and accusing each other of being biased or a mouthpeice for whomever.

That brings me to this story about a Documentary recently produced and aired by the CBC program The Fifth Estate appropriately called “Sticks and Stones“.

Iraq Votes!

UPDATE 1:

The Polls are now closed. CBC reports that the final estimate of voter turnout has gone done to 60% from 72%. Still not too shabby. I’d like to see a breakdown from the various regions. Reports are all saying that Sunni turnout has been quite low. We’ll see just how low.

We should know the final results in about a week.
