Yes, this is a superficial way of determining whether the Iraq war should have happened. But, in our society were money rules everything, it is quite possibility the most valid and quite certainly the one people can identify with most easily.

$US151 billion is more money than most countries spend in their annual budgets… total.

The Cost of War
website gives comparisons on how that money could have been spent.

I could think of a million things, directly relating to the Middle East, where that money could have gone to improve the possibility of peace and democracy in that part of the world. Instead we have war.
