So. Miss Jade and Mom went to the doctor today for a little checkup.

Jade weighed in at a HEFTY 8lbs 11oz! That means she’s gained 1lb 5oz in just 16 days! The doctor wasn’t sure where she’s put it all. Her head has grown a little, but she hasn’t grown much in length so it looks like she’s put it all on around the hips! (and cheeks, and elbows, and knees and stuff).

What’s more, the doctor said to Theresa,

“So, has anyone talked to you about when to start Jade on solid food?”
No…
“Well, we should probably look at starting her around 6 months age.”
6 months? Is that like… 6 months for real… or 6 months “corrected”.
“For real. Like November”

Duh… whoa.

So there ya go! Jades’ might just have a pureed Christmas dinner!
Apparently this revelation is due to the fact that Jade is eating so much. She eats about 120-150ml. Which is about 4-5oz. All the books say when you start feeding to give them a few tablespoons of solid food with 4-6oz of formula/BM. So.. we’re almost there!

I can’t imagine that she’ll actually be able to eat semi-normal food soon!

Anyway, that’s the news. Jade is sitting here in her little swing (which she loves). Sleeping mostly. Fussing a little. Nothing major, just a little.

So, it’s September 10 already!

Jade was born 4 months ago today. It’s amazing really to think how far she has come. From a little peanut that could fit in my hand… to a wiggling baby who’s almost starting to get heavy.

She hasn’t been weighed in a couple weeks… that’s not going to happen again until this Monday. But we think she’s up around 8lbs.

That’s almost 2lbs per month!

She really is a jewel. She may keep us up a night and make us worry or fret… but she’s just so adorable it’s all easy. She has these big green eyes that just stare up as if to say hello. She gurgles and coos and we think she even giggled a couple days ago.

She turned over on her tummy all by herself about a week ago. That was a big surprise. We see so many other babies, they all seem huge. Overgrown even. Being the proud parents we are we think Jade is so far ahead of some bigger babies. She’s turning over and moving her head around and looking up at us. And she’s just 8lbs!

Anyway, I’m off to bed. It’s been a crazy tiring first week at work and I have nightshift tonight. Hopefully I can sleep in tomorrow. It’s raining outside. I like the rain… I find it relaxing.

Hey Everyone!

Ready! Guess what?
My Blog is finally back online!
I had to make some major changes which included some new software for the blog itself.
Long Story Short… it’s taken me until now to get everything happy again and to learn the new system!

Jade is doing great. There are some new pictures at the side. I’ll be tweaking the site to make sure everything looks good but that shouldn’t affect my ability to post new updates or pictures.

Jade is doing very very well. She’s pretty much like any other little baby. The only difference being that she looks and weighs like a 4 week old… rather than a 4 month old!

This Friday will be Jades 4 month birthday!
